Our People

Our professional liability claims representatives are some of the most knowledgeable in the industry with an average of 20 years of experience and well versed in medical terminology, legal issues and insurance, and hospital staff and publicity concerns. They are assigned fewer cases than the industry norm (averaging 70 cases) so they have the time to thoroughly investigate claims while understanding each facility’s individual needs and constraints.

Our claims professionals perform many tasks that commercial carriers typically delegate to legal counsel, including investigation and interviews. They attend settlement conferences, mediations and trials, interact with member facilities’ risk managers and play an active role in all settlement negotiations.

We take a proactive approach to claims management with staff dedicated to handling each claim from inception to resolution.

When outside legal counsel is required, we work closely with a select group of defense attorneys who specialize in healthcare professional liability claims. We defend nonmeritorious claims vigorously and move quickly to resolve cases that have merit in the most equitable manner for all concerned.

We focus on a team approach to claims management, delivering the highest level of service while reducing costs and improving claims outcomes.
