Shoulder dystocia is a true obstetric emergency that can turn into a clinician’s nightmare. Typically unpredictable and ostensibly unpreventable, complications can result in harm to both the mother and the newborn. This presentation reviews current literature and updates clinician’s on recognition and treatment of shoulder dystocia and provides practical tips to be used in daily practice.
