Ms. Gocke is a registered nurse specialty-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM). She has worked as a registered nurse in a high-risk labor and delivery unit at a teaching facility and in the community hospital setting. She is a Legal Nurse Consultant and holds a certificate as a paralegal.

Ms. Gocke joined BETA in 2009, having worked in the field of risk management and claims management for the previous nine years. For seven of those years, she held the position of manager of patient safety and clinical risk for a 42-hospital system as an internal risk management consultant. Her area of clinical risk focus was on perinatal safety. She was also involved in a variety of risk management and quality improvement efforts and was an active participant in the Institute of Healthcare Improvement's perinatal community.

Ms. Gocke is a 2008-2009 graduate of the Patient Safety Leadership Fellowship program sponsored by the American Hospital Association, where her one-year project was on perinatal safety. She currently serves as president of the Southern California Chapter of Healthcare Risk Management (SCAHRM) and holds an elected position as director on the National Certification Corporation (NCC) Board, a nurse certification agency.
