Mr. Wander has overall responsibility for BETA Healthcare Group. He is a member of the BETA Council, the governing board of BETA Healthcare Group, and is also president and a director of BETAlliance. He is a former chairman of the Hospital Insurance Forum, former vice chairman and current member of the board of directors of Californians Allied for Patient Protection (CAPP), and is a member of the legislative committee for the California Association of Joint Powers Authorities.

Before joining BETA Healthcare Group in 1993, Mr. Wander had been a management consultant for 12 years. From 1987 to 1993, he was a vice president and principal of Tillinghast, a Towers Perrin company (now Towers Watson), where he managed the worldwide risk management consulting practice and was a member of Tillinghast's Management Council.

Mr. Wander earned both his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, specializing in finance and risk management. He is a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, an Associate in Risk Management, and a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist.
